I’m a little limited with my setup now, but I’d like to eventually have a dedicated space where I can have an overhead camera properly show the bag, and then it will be easier to walk through the features. Thanks so much man! Really appreciate the encouragement as well as constructive feedback. Thank you so much for the pointers, much appreciated! □□ Overall though, your feedback is noted and perhaps you’re right that I probably dwelled on the negative too much. demonstrating how much I love twirling that Grovemade key ring on my finger). The exception being if there is positive which somehow delighted me but which is not marketed by the manufacturer (e.g. (Also, I did get a little animated for what I hoped would be comedic effect-not sure if that came across though haha). As for the positives, that’s what the manufacturer’s marketing material is for, so I feel like it doesn’t warrant much dwelling on. If something is a deal breaker for me, I feel like I should dwell on it a little longer in order to emphasize the severity. Personally, I feel like what’s missing on YouTube currently (in the carry community) are reviews which dwell on the negatives in proportion to how much they affect the usability. I think it’s the consequences of reviewers receiving free bags and wanting to continue receiving them in the future. These sort of “well rounded” reviews can be found in abundance on YouTube, and they all sound about the same. Whenever I buy a bag, I often watch several reviews before purchasing, and very often I discover deal breakers in the bag that were either not mentioned at all, or mentioned briefly in passing. The tolerance for the zippers just seems to be tighter on the Aer. Even the aquaguard zips were always easier to open and close on the X-Pod, even when it was new. I happen to have a brand new X Pod on hand, and my point about the material difference still stands. I might do another follow up after more usage. Nevertheless, I agree it would have been smart to use it more extensively-I was just in the mood to make a video and wanted to upload it while the bag is still trending on YouTube. While this is a fair point, I did own the previous version of the City sling for a few months, so it’s not like I had to discover the fundamentals of the City Sling all over again. It's easier to keep people's attention and not come off as negative that way. You spoke well and the editing was pretty good. The meat of the video, stating what you were looking for and what you like about the xpod was good. List out your positives and your negatives in your use over a few weeks and be concise. People in the future aren't going to want to watch 24 minutes of you getting upset with features you're disappointed in. Just point it out as a negative and move on. You spend minutes fiddling with the zipper at the top and getting upset. In my opinion this seems more like a reaction video and less like an objective review. It's OK to list your negatives, but don't dwell on them and make sure to give the audience perspective realism. Will the zippers and the materials break in? Definitely. You're comparing Xpac and aqua guards that are worn in to something you just took out of the box. There is a reason most channels will live with a product for 2 weeks before giving their opinion. You were hoping for a streamlined better looking version of the xpod and you ordered an entirely different product so when reviewing it keep that in mind. You're comparing a product you've had for a few hours to a customized solution you know and love.
